Well here it is, my first Blog entry. Now I am here I wonder what I'm going to tell you. Perhaps it would be a good idea for my first Blog to tell you something about me..I know, boring, but hey, that's what Blogs are for, right? If you didn't know by now, my name is Joshua Rose. I wasn't given that name at birth. I was named Neil Rose. Why the name change? Seriously, this probably isn't the platform for this part of my life, lets just say Daddy wasn't all he made himself out to be to everyone else. And that part I will leave there!
I was born on the 19th of October 1966 ( for those of you who can't add, that makes me 40 ;). When I was a kid I hated Christmas, other kids, and my parents, well I guess I loved them really, kinda. Why hate Christmas, because Christmas was one big fight from start to finish, arguments, bad losers at Monopoly, you know the routine. Were we poor? Hmm...sometimes desperately. What I do know is that we never got much of the money my dad earned, he saved that for the barman.
I have an older brother and a younger sister, 13 yrs younger if you can believe that.
I bought my first computer when I was 16, ah the Commodore64. It was just a keyboard with 64k of memory that you had to plug cartridges into the back to play games or run program's. I remember going to work with my dad when I was a young kid and seeing this huge punch card machine that they then called a computer, I think back now and think wow, that huge machine that took the space of a large room had no more memory than my trusty, c64 had. Who would know what leaps and bounds the computer would make.
I Married at 24, divorced 8 yrs later but remain close friends with my ex wife. Met a woman a couple of years later and took her and her kids on...she thought it was fun to sleep with another guy and get pregnant by him, end of second long term relationship and the last to date. I see the kids as much as I want. They are good kids and I love them. Over the last couple of years, my interest in art and photography has been re-established and I haven't looked back. I live to photograph and I wouldn't care if I never did anything else. I've been a rock cllimber, a pot holer, a teachers aid, a councilor and a tool designer ( developing assessment aids, not tools as in spanner ). Thats just a few of my jobs, I also trained to be an interior designer. I write articles for a trust who helps people with mental health condition's and I used to run an online community of thousands. I am self educated. Learning how to write and web publish. I went back to college and took English Lit, I was a straight A student.
And here I am, the finished product. I know who I am and thats a good thing. I know my bad qualities and my good and I can live with that.
